NHS England and Improvement has set a national strategy to ask GP Practices to work together in Networks to provide access to services on weekdays before 8am and until 20:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 17:00. At the moment those services are provided by other services providers within the NHS, but from 1st October 2022 Primary Care Networks (PCNs) have been asked to do this. This will mean that some of the General Practice Surgery sites across our area will be open for the times above (not all practices are being asked to be open for all of the times). There continues to be workforce constraints in the NHS which is why it will be so important for practices to work together in networks. This means that if you are offered a face to face appointment outside of standard opening hours it may be at another local surgery.
Your views on these proposed changes are important to help us design a service that is right for our patients.
Survey closes at midnight on 30th June.
